The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is the latest version of a legendary nameplate that’s been in continuous production longer than any other. Six trim levels are available in the 2024 Suburban lineup. The range starts with the entry-level LS and then goes to the LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and range-topping High Country. The base engine for all models other than the top-of-the-line High Country is a 5.3-liter V-8 that develops 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Most people will be more than happy with this tried and tested powerplant, but there are two more options to consider. The headline-grabber is a 6.2-liter gas V-8, which then provides the Suburban with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2 is available for RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country trim levels, but every model other than the Z71 can also have a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel with 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque to offer.
Although it isn’t a genuine luxury SUV in the strictest terms, you wouldn’t know if you took a ride in one of the highest 2024 Suburban trim levels. Retail shoppers will likely overlook the base model to get a better infotainment system with a larger 10.2-inch screen and other goodies like a Bose sound system and 12-inch digital Driver Information Center.
However, the High Country goes above and beyond with a standard 15-inch color head-up display, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a power-programmable hands-free liftgate, and plenty more.
