The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer exterior styling certainly didn’t need a substantial rethink, so last year’s modest refresh with a new grille and slimmer lights made it look even more striking than it did already. There’s no denying the fiercely styled exterior of the current Blazer, but there’s plenty more to recommend than just the way this stunning crossover looks. The Blazer is a show-stopper of a vehicle, but it’s also engaging to drive and fabulous as a passenger.
One problem you could have with the new Blazer is choosing between the two available powerplants. The first of the pair is a 2.0-litre turbo-four producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, which is the standard unit under the hood of the base LT model in both front or all-wheel drive formats. The alternative powerplant is a 3.6-litre V-6 the True North, RS, and top-of-the-range Premier trims get as part of their standard specification. The V-6 is optional for the entry-level LT and provides the Blazer with 308 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. Regardless of trim level or engine, the power gets sent to the front or all four wheels through a standard nine-speed automatic transmission.
There’s plenty of power and performance available with the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer, but safety certainly hasn’t been neglected. All variants feature frontal and seat-mounted side-impact airbags for the driver and front passenger, a driver’s knee airbag, and head-curtain airbags for the outboard seating positions in the front and rear. A rear vision camera and tire pressure monitors are also standard across the entire lineup, and there are plenty more advanced safety features that are standard and available for the 2024 Blazer.
All models get the Chevrolet Safety Assist package as part of their standard specifications. The package includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. If the RS or Premier is your preferred trim level, you then have the option to add the Safety Plus Package. This package adds Wireless Charging, HD Surround Vision, a Rear Camera Mirror, Adaptive Cruise Control, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Safety Alert Seat, and LED headlamps to the already impressive list of standard safety kit.
